David Patrick Jackson, 51, of Sonora, passed away Saturday, March 29, 2014, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.

He was a retired Army staff sergeant with 20 years of service. He had worked for the LaRue County Road Department. His nickname was Trapper Jack. He was a member of Kentucky Fur Trappers, National Muzzleloading Club America, VFW of Elizabethtown and American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Kline Jackson of Sonora; his parents, Jerry R. and Nancy Kelley Jackson of Guysville, Ohio; a daughter, Jennifer Jackson and Chris Reinke of Fort Wayne, Ind.; one grandchild, Alexander Jackson of Fort Wayne; two sisters, Melany (Jim) Morgan of Guysville, Ohio, and Karen (Barry) Douglas of Athens, Ohio; a brother, Jerry W. (Billie) Jackson of Guysville; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral is at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 2, at Manakee Funeral Home in Sonora with the Rev. Tony Carson officiating. Burial with military honors follows in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-Central in Radcliff.
Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and continues from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
