Gregory Wayne "Greg" Wooten, 62, of Hodgenville, took his Heavenly journey on Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville.

Greg was born July 9, 1951, to Thomas Edward and the late Catherine Curle Wooten.

Greg was an Army veteran with four years of service and 20 years in the Army Reserves. He received an honorable discharge. He was a member of Walnut Hill Baptist Church in Upton. He retired with 28 years of service with the state highway department.

Greg was preceded in death by his mother, Catherine Curle Wooten; two sisters, Donna Kay and Rhonda Kay; and a special aunt and uncle, Lucy and Leroy Stone.

Greg leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 40 years, Eva Dixon Wooten of Hodgenville; one son, William Tyrone (Shirl) Wooten of Hodgenville; his father, Thomas Edward of Hodgenville; four brothers, Larry (Marva) of Brandywine, Md., Paul Jr. (Linda) and Ricky, all of Hodgenville, and Scotty (Guyann) of Tulsa, Okla.; two sisters, Jewel Dean (Charles) and Pam, all of Indianapolis; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

The funeral for Gregory Wayne Wooten is at noon Monday, April 14, at First Baptist Church of Hodgenville with the Rev. Billy Curle officiating. Burial follows in Hubbard Cemetery in Hodgenville.

Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at William R. Rust Funeral Home Hodgenville Chapel and continues at 9 a.m. Monday at the church.
