Helen Lee Carroll, 75, of Louisville, died Thursday May 15, 2014, at Baptist Health in Louisville.
The Guest Book is expired.
She was the former Helen Slinker, born to the late Raymond Slinker and Sarah (Sally) Abell.
Helen was a mother to many children who had the fortune to enter her home and her loving arms. She never turned away a desperate mother in need of someone to care for her child, nor did she turn away an individual who needed a meal or place to lay their head. She was kind and generous to a fault. Momma Helen truly will be missed by those who loved her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Harvey "Buddy" Carroll; brothers, Earl Slinker and Herbert Slinker; and a sister, Ellen Slinker Jeffries.
She is survived by her two sons, James Michael (Kathy) Carroll and David Carroll, all of Elizabethtown; two daughters, Judy Shields of Louisville and Sandy (Michael) Carley of Virginia Beach, VA; three brothers, George Slinker, Norman Slinker and Dorise Slinker all of Elizabethtown; four grandchildren, Jennifer Carroll, Heather (Chris) Keith, Shayla and Lakota Carroll; and two great-grandchildren, Aaliyah and Aden Keith.
The funeral is at 11 a.m. Monday at Brown Funeral Home with Pastor Jason Isaacs officiating. Burial follows in Rhudes Creek Cemetery.
Visitation is from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. today and continues after 9 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
