Stella Mae Williams Thurman, 86, of Hodgenville, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Sunday, May 25, 2014, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.

Stella was born July 16, 1927, to the late T.P. and Winford Thornton Williams. She was united in holy matrimony on March 23, 1954, to Donald Larue Thurman, who preceded her in death. She joined Second Baptist Church in Greensburg at an early age and remained a member until her death.

Stella also was preceded in death by a son, Phillip A. Thurman; a grandson, Jamie S. Curle; a granddaughter, Kallee M. Thurman; a son-in-law, Robert "Bobby" Kramer; and a brother, George Williams.

Stella leaves to mourn her passing a son, John A. (Lisa) Thurman; three daughters, L. Kaye (Jimmy) Curle, Linda Thurman Kramer and Patricia (Mike) Mountain; 10 grandchildren, Nichole Curle (Ken) Marshall, Steven McCullogh, Kellee Thurman, Phillip (Tony) Thurman, Tyrone Lee, Justin Thurman, Katlynn and Isaiah Thurman, and Shakeya and Isaiah Washington; 10 great-grandchildren, Arika, Issac and Kendyll Marshall, Jamie and Cameron McCullough, Shuquoie Thurman, Kyya Embree, Darius Thurman, Kamilah Myles-Thurman and Addison Michelle Lee; three sisters, Eliza Cobb, Myrtle Wynn and Letha (Ray) Johnson; a brother, James U. Williams; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, including a special friend, Von Smith.

The funeral for Stella Mae Williams Thurman is at 11 a.m. Friday, May 30, at William R. Rust Funeral Home, Hodgenville Chapel, with the Rev. James Sparks officiating. Burial follows in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-Central in Radcliff.

Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 29, and continues after 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
