George Edward Phelps, 83, of Radcliff, passed away Sunday, June 29, 2014, at the Robley Rex VA Medical Center in Louisville.

Mr. Phelps was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the time of the Korean War. He was a member and past commander of American Legion Post No. 113 in Elizabethtown, a past Color Guard commander and a former game warden.
Survivors include two daughters, Joy Phelps of Woodstock, Georgia, and Kim (Daniel) Clifford of Radcliff; two grandchildren, Covy Phelps of Woodstock, Georgia, and Danielle Clifford and her fiancé, Thomas Minter of Louisville; two sisters, Ruth Asher of New Orleans, Louisiana, and Mary Saag of Louisville; several nieces and nephews; and a host of family and friends.
The funeral is at 11 a.m. Thursday at the chapel of Coffey & Chism Funeral Home in Vine Grove. Burial with military honors follows in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-Central in Radcliff.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and continues at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
