William L. Ellis, 69, of Munfordville, died Thursday, Aug. 28, 2014, at Hardin Memorial Hospital.

He was a native of Green County and served in the U.S. Army. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 33 years as a mail carrier for the Elizabethtown Post Office. After retirement he drove a truck for Nall's Specialized Hauling.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Reuben and Beatrice Milby Ellis; and his half-sister, Wanda Mangold.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Lois Miller Ellis; a daughter, Emily Livers of Glasgow; two sons, William E. (Shannon D.) Ellis of Munfordville and Philip A. Ellis of Taylor Mill; two brothers, Dwayne (Sandra) Ellis of Elizabethtown and James (Beverly) Ellis of Council Bluff, Iowa; a sister, Mary (James) Goyer of Millington, Tennessee; and eight grandchildren, William, Stefanie, Aimee, Amber, Marcy, Eric, Molly and Henry.
A memorial service is at 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 31, 2014, at Elizabethtown First Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Raleigh Bostic officiating.
