Lois Douglas, 82, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Monday morning, Nov. 5, 2012, peacefully at her home in Oklahoma City.

Lois was born Dec. 13, 1929, in Ashland. She is the daughter of the late John Montgomery and Ethel Anderson Montgomery.
She proudly served in the Women's Army Corps during the Korean War. She was a past worthy matron of Camp Knox Lodge No. 919 in Radcliff. Lois retired from civil service in 1994 from the United States Navy. She also was known as the best mother God could have given any child. "Thank you God for giving us the best mother in the world."
Lois was preceded in death by her husband, David Douglas Sr.; her sister, Phyllis Montgomery; and two brothers, Donald Montgomery and James C. Montgomery.
She is survived by her three daughters, Rebecca Jane Douglas-Andrews, son-in-law James Andrews, of Casco, Mich., Ethel Cecil, son-in-law James Cecil, of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Mary-Ruth Toy, son-in-law Jeffery Toy; and one son, David Douglas Jr., daughter-in-law Barbara June Sheroan-Douglas of Vine Grove; three sisters, Iva Jean Blanton, brother-in-law Clyde Blanton, of Ashland, Joy Walters, brother-in-law Ray Walters, of Greenup and Jonie Parker of Trenton, Mich; one sister-in-law, Luise Montgomery of Trenton; 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and another on the way and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
Remembrance services are at noon Saturday, Nov. 10, at the Kingsbrook Center, 2500 State Route 5, Ashland.
