Laurence Washington Pence, 94, of Elizabethtown, passed away Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, at Hardin Memorial Hospital.

A native of Hardin County, he was a member of United Methodist Church but attended Christ Episco-pal Church. He was a World War II Navy Veteran and a member of Beach Cities Lodge No. 735 F & AM, Nova Star OES, Pilgrim Shrine OWSJ and Serenity Chapter of Amaranth.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Ruth Pence; his parents, John W. and Lula Maude Klinglesmith Pence; and a brother, Russell Pence.

Survivors include two children, Barbara "Bobbie" (Weston I.) Nathanson of Northridge, Calif., and Re-becca "Beckie" (Patrick) Henry of Elizabethtown; a brother, Paul (Mildred) Pence of Colesburg; two sisters, Frances Phelps and Joan Delk, both of Elizabethtown; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 19, at Christ Episcopal Church with the Rev. Ellen Morell officiating. Burial will follow in Inglewood Park Cemetery in California.

Visitation is 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Dixon-Atwood & Trowbridge Funeral Home.
