Mrs. Elizabeth Lorene Bartley, 91, of Bardstown, passed away Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013, at Life Care Center.

The former Elizabeth Lorene Greenwell was born July 26, 1921, in Nelson County. She was a homemaker and retired from the bottling line at Heaven Hill. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Hugh Bartley Sr.; two sons, Joseph Hugh Bartley Jr., and Robert Lee Bartley; her parents, Robert Russell and Mary Helen Hutchins Greenwell; three brothers, Marvin Greenwell, Donnie Greenwell and Collins Greenwell; a sister, Esther Greenwell; and a daughter-in-law, Gail Bartley.

She is survived by four sons, Keith Bartley, Roy (Brenda) Bartley, Daniel (Vickie) Bartley and Neale (Jill) Bartley, all of Bardstown; four daughters, Wanda (Bill) Ballard and Nancy (Maurice) Metcalf, both of Bardstown, Betty Ann (Carl) Thomas of Springfield and Susie (John) Jeffries of Hodgenville; 29 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Mary Jo Bartley of Bardstown; a brother, Happy Greenwell of Bardstown; five sisters, Helen Downs and Valinda Pettit, both of Bardstown, Delores Greenwell of Sisters of Charity of Nazareth of Nazareth, Lavon Cecil of Howardstown and Ann Hall of New Haven; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian burial is at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, at Immaculate Conception Church with the Rev. Troy Overton officiating. Burial follows in St. Thomas Cemetery.

Visitation is from 1 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and continues at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at Clark and Houghlin Funeral Home in Bardstown. A prayer service is at 4 p.m. today with Deacon Arnold Downs officiating.
