Magdalena "Maggie" Martinez passed away peacefully and quietly Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012, in Green Cove Springs, Fla.

Maggie was born May 30, 1934, in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She was a longtime resident of Vine Grove. Her last year was spent with her eldest daughter in Florida.

Maggie retired with more than 30 years of service with AAFES at Fort Knox and did volunteer work with the senior citizens center in Vine Grove.

The mother of six, she was preceded in death by her husband, William; two sons, "Bill" and "Jimmy" Martinez; and a grandson, Michael Eric Martinez Jr.

Maggie is survived by four children, Marie McNeely of Middleburg, Fla., Therese Pebbles of Green River, Wyo., Bradley Martinez of Washington D.C., and Michael Martinez of Huntsville, Ala.; 11 grandchildren, Emily Conroe, Ryan Conroe, Alicia Love, Eric Martinez, Billy Ray Rose, Briana Pebbles, Kyle Pebbles, James Martinez Jr., Samantha Martinez, Jorge Martinez and Stephen Martinez; and five great-grandchildren, Trinity Love, Ryan Love, Anthony Martinez, Avery Martinez and Adin Martinez.

Cremation was chosen.

A funeral Mass is at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 27, at St. Brigid Catholic Church in Vine Grove. Burial follows in St. Brigid Cemetery.

Visitation begins at 10 a.m. at the church.
