Charles "June" Routt Jr., 94, of Sonora, passed away Sunday, July 7, 2013, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.

June lived his whole life in the house he was born and raised in. He was a farmer and member of First Baptist Church of Sonora where he served as a deacon for many years. He was a member of Upton Masonic Lodge No. 749 F&AM for more than 50 years. He served on the LaRue County Fair Board and the Farm Bureau Board of Directors.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey Decker Routt; his parents, Charles and Mattie Shipp Routt Sr.; one infant daughter; a daughter, Sharon Routt; a son, Gary Routt; three brothers, Elmo "Doc" and his wife, Estelle Routt, Eldred "Mug" and his wife, Stella Routt and Bobby Routt; two sisters, Blanche Rock and her husband, Gus, and Mildred "Mick" Duggins and her husband, Earl; and his lady friend, Virginia Sherrard.

He is survived by a granddaughter, Dawn and DaMarco Pawley Simpson of Upton; a great-granddaughter, Dalaynee Simpson of Upton; a sister-in-law, Sarah Mary Routt of Sonora; nieces and nephews; and wonderful caregivers.

The funeral is at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, at First Baptist Church in Sonora with the Rev. Tony Carson officiating. Burial follows in Sonora Cemetery.

Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and continues from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Manakee Funeral Home in Sonora.
