Robert Preston McKoin
Funeral services for Mr. Robert Preston McKoin, 76, a mechanic of Newellton will be held 2:00 PM, Friday, May 4, 2012, at Bethany Baptist Church, Newellton, LA with Rev. John Holdiness officiating. Interment will be in Legion Memorial Cemetery Newellton, LA, under the direction of Gill First National Funeral Home.
Mr. McKoin was born September 5, 1935 in Jones, LA to his parents Preston Perry and Ruth Juanita Dunnigan McKoin and passed away at his residence in Newellton, LA on May 1, 2012.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Marion Crawley and brother Billy Jim McKoin.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years Marilyn McKoin of Newellton, LA, sons Doug Hughes of Bastrop, LA and Preston McKoin of Homer, LA; daughters Patricia Cheek of Bastrop, LA; Joyce McKoin of Newellton, LA and Ruth McKoin of Las Vegas, NV; sister Margaret Tietz of West Monroe; brother Jack McKoin of Monroe, LA; 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Danny Hendry, Scott Herring, Ben Hughes, Doug Hughes, Jr.; James Matthews, Jay McKoin, Jody McKoin and Keith McKoin.
