Claude H. Duncan
Funeral services for Claude H. Duncan, 86, of Monroe, will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, April 5, 2013, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Rev. William Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Duncan Cemetery out of Mangham, LA.
Mr. Duncan passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at his residence after a lengthy illness. He was a member of Lakeshore Baptist Church, and a U. S. Army veteran of WWII. After retiring from Swift and Company, he formed his own company doing remodeling work. He loved to hunt, fish, and go to his camp. Mr. Duncan devoted his life to keeping his grandchildren happy.
Mr. Duncan was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Elsie Duncan; sister, Shirley Thompson; brother, Douglas Duncan; and granddaughter, Jessica Nola.
Survivors include his son, Bennie Duncan and wife Sharon; daughter, Pamela Nola and husband Paul; brothers, Rufus Duncan and Charles Duncan and wife Dorothy; grandsons, David Duncan, Jimmie Duncan, Randall Thompson and wife Kristy, Chris Jenkins and wife Jessica; granddaughter, Nichole Barlow and husband Billy; great grandsons, Seth Thompson, Cade Thompson, Jake Thompson, Ben Lofton, Mike Lofton, and Jaxon Sanders; great granddaughter, Adilyn Jenkins; sister-in-law, Annette Renfrow; brother-in-law, Sonny Woolsey.
Pallbearers will be Kenny Duncan, Chuck Duncan, Dean Roy, Brian Smith, Paul Nola, and Chris Jenkins.
Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
The family wishes to extend their thanks to Louisiana Hospice, his nurse Tina Koonce, and aide Pam.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
