Amy's family,
The world has lost an incredible woman. I am greatly sadden by her loss.
As you know, Amy was a person who was full of life. Amy would brighten any place she would enter whether it was a room or a heart.
She also clearly had a strong love for her son. Amy would frequently talk about him during our interactions. Her son brought her great joy and was the love of her life.
Amy also loved sports. She knew a lot about football. Amy jokingly asked if I could get her tickets to a pretty important football game her favorite team was playing in January. She asked that the seat be in the wheelchair section of the stadium, so she could go. Amy was a very good fighter.
Amy was a strong human rights activist and social worker. She was drawn to help others who were less fortunate in our society. During our numerous conversations through the years, Amy acknowledged her illness, but she never complained about it. She accepted it and would focus instead on making the lives of others better to make the world a better place for all.
Amy,
Your presence is already being missed and there is great sorrow because of that, but your spirit will continue to be with us. You are loved. Steve
