Wilber Gene Hodges
Funeral services for Wilber Gene Hodges age 68 of Enterprise will be held 1pm Sunday October 14, 2012 from the sanctuary of New Ouachita Baptist Church at Enterprise with the Rev. James King officiating. Interment will follow in the Rosefield Cemetery at Rosefield under direction of Riser Funeral Home of Columbia. Visitation will be at the church on Saturday Oct 13, 2012 from 3pm until 8pm.
Wilber Gene Hodges known by everyone as "Boar Hog", was born on December 12, 1943 at Rosefield, to the union of his parents Sam Wilber Hodges, Jr. and Moease Cruse Hodges; and passed from this life on Thursday October 11, 2012 at his residence following a brief illness. Mr. Hodges was a Field Supervisor with the United States Dept. of Agriculture, and was an active member of the New Ouachita Baptist Church.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Mrs. Georgia Ann Hodges of Enterprise; his son, Raymond Gene Hodges of Jackson, LA; and two step sons, Charles Malcolm Poole and wife Tammy Poole, and Marty Lynn Poole; his daughter, Anita Genae Sones and husband Harold M. Sones of Harrisonburg, two step daughters, Tammy Lane Hendricks and Shellie Renae Bradford; fifteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be Brad Butts, Sam Hodges, H.C. Lewis, Curtis Roark, Elijah Boothe, and Brian Wade. Honorary pallbearers will be Laray Nugent and Gene Tennille.

I am so sorry to hear about Wilber. I am sorry I was not able to attend the service. I had the pleasure working with him while I was in the NASS office in Baton Rouge. He was a genuine man and great to work with. He will truly be missed.

Mrs. Georgia, Anita and Raymond,
I am praying for you all. Wilbur or "Uncle Boar Hog" was such a sweet and loving man to my kids. He will always have a special place in our hearts. We loved him and thought of him as part of our family.
