Funeral services for Bennye Sue Kirk Donnell, 83, of Swampers, LA will be held at 11:00 am Monday, August 19, 2013 at Lone Pine Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Stephens officiating. Interment will follow in Harris Cemetery under the direction of Gill First National Funeral Home. Visitation will be 9:00 am until time of service at the church.

Mrs. Donnell was born May 27, 1930 in Rayville, LA to Benjamin Leslie and Clover Dell Owen Kirk and passed from this life on August 17, 2013 at her residence in Swampers, LA.

She was a member of Lone Pine Baptist Church, a Sunday School teacher for over 50 years and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Mrs. Donnell was a devoted wife and mother who loved to take care of her family; she loved to cook, bake and most of all rock and read books to her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death are her parents and sister Martha Kirk Benerman.

Survivors include her husband of 64 years Jewel Neal Donnell, Sr. of Swampers; children J.N. "Dewey" Donnell of Winnsboro, LA; Patty Donnell Holloway and husband, Edward of Delhi, LA; Jarrell Donnell and wife, DeLayne of Swampers, LA; grandchildren Christy Donnell Chapman and husband, Brad; their children Brandon and Blake of Winnsboro; Matthew Holloway and wife, Carmen; their children Caleb and Megan of Crowville, LA; Tracy Donnell Kaufman and husband, Alex; their children Lance and Emma of Winnsboro; Shannon Holloway Anderson and husband, Don; their children Devan and Logan of Blairsville, GA; Benjamin Donnell and daughter Hannah; and her daughter Chloe of Monroe; Everett Holloway and wife, Betsey; their daughter Stella Grace of Rayville, LA; Joshua Donnell of Gonzales, LA; Jarrod Donnell and wife, DeAnna; their son Johnathan of Swampers, LA; Leslie Donnell of Natchez, MS; her brother and sisters Betty Kirk Fritts of Hunt, TX; Gen. (Ret.)William Leslie Kirk and wife Nancy of Niceville, FL and Adelene Kirk Phillips of Arvada, CO and a host of other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Matthew Holloway, Benjamin Donnell, Joshua Donnell, Everett Holloway, Jarrod Donnell, Brad Chapman, Alex Kaufman and Don Anderson.

A special thank you to Patricia Wallace, who lovingly cared for our mom during her illness and who has become one of the family.
