Edgar Newton Osbon
Graveside services for Edgar Newton Osbon, 91, of Bastrop, LA, will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at Carter Cemetery in Bastrop, LA, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
Mr. Osbon went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 4, 2013, at Avalon Nursing Home in Monroe. He served in the US Army
during World War II
and retired from the International Paper Mill in Bastrop LA. He was an avid and great domino player and loved to fish. He also enjoyed family genealogy. He would have celebrated his 92nd birthday Tuesday.
Mr. Osbon was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Zola McCowan Osbon; and his wife, Cascille Howze Smith Osbon; and sister, Louise Horn, and his brother.
Survivors include his children, Yvonne Drummond and husband James of Monroe, Jim Smith and wife Ann of West Monroe, Dolly Smith of West Monroe and friend Jimmy Brown; nieces, Jeanie Thorne, Peaches McKnight and husband Dale, Maureen Horn, Barbara Horn, and Laureen Horn; and nine grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
Memorials may be made to the Strauss Senior Center, LA War Veteran's Home or to St. Jude's.
