John Russell Wink

John Russell Wink, Sr., 86, passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at his home in Jonesboro, Louisiana. He was born on June 18, 1926 in Lapine, Louisiana to Herman and Rena (Bush) Wink.

John Russell was a lifelong resident of north Louisiana. He served his country during World War II in the US Navy as a coxswain. He was also a licensed private pilot. John Russell owned and operated Wink's Oil Company on Pershing Highway in Jonesboro, Louisiana for over 30 years.

John Russell married Kaye in 2003. They were happily married for 10 years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

He enjoyed playing golf for many years, fishing, gardening, spending time with his family and friends and most of all cooking. You could always count on some good food and company when visiting him. He loved reading recipes. The one thing that you could count on was that he would never use the same recipe twice, because he loved experimenting to make his food the best.

John Russell is survived by his loving and caring wife Kaye of Jonesboro, Louisiana; his daughter Dana Wink Bellefontaine of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and her husband Billy; his grandchildren Danielle Bellefontaine Fazio and her husband, Frank, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, William Wink Bellefontaine and his wife, Laura, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Blake Russell Bellefontaine of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; and his sister Louise Gatlin of West Monroe, Louisiana.
