Arnold M. Carpenter

Funeral services for Arnold M. Carpenter, 65, of Athens, LA, will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, December 6, 2012, at Lighthouse Family Worship Center in Homer, LA, with Rev. Ben Booth officiating. Graveside service will be held at 3:30PM Thursday at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd. Monroe.

Mr. Carpenter passed away Monday, December 2, 2012, at Willis Knighton in Bossier. He was a 1967 graduate of Ouachita Parish High School and was a US Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam War. After returning home from service, he attended NLU. He was a member, deacon and lay minister of Lighthouse Family Worship Center and retired as Chief of Communications from the Ouachita Parish Fire Department.

Mr. Carpenter was preceded in death by his mother, Imogene Marie Carpenter, and sister, Elsie Lee "Sue" Carpenter Roberts.

Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Deborah Ussery Carpenter of Athens, LA; children, Christa Carpenter Anderson and husband Joshua of Athens, LA, Deana Carpenter Ducote and husband Donovan of Benton, LA, Roger Troyce Carpenter of Homer, LA; stepson, James Goodwin and wife Ashley of Start, LA; father, Leland Troyce Carpenter; stepmother, Ruby of Bastrop, LA; brother, Richard L. Carpenter and wife Wanda of Bastrop, LA; eleven grandchildren, two nieces, and one nephew.

Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at Lighthouse Family Worship Center in Homer, LA.

Pallbearers will be the Ouachita Parish Fire Department Honor Guard.

Memorials may be made to the Lighthouse Family Worship Center in Homer, LA.
