Funeral services for Cordell J. Singletary will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 26, 2012 in the White Oaks Memorial Chapel of Oakdale with the Reverend Michael McIntoch officiating. Committal services will follow in the Oakdale Cemetery under the guidance of White Oaks Funeral Home.

Cordell, 89, of Oakdale, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 in his residence. He was born on August 25, 1923 in Oakdale to the union of Wallace Marvin and Beulah Hamilton Singletary. He was a resident of Oakdale most of his life. He worked at the Finke's Department Store as a store clerk for many years. He also, worked as an Insurance Agent in the Oakdale area.

He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and four sisters.

He leaves behind his loving family to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 66 years, Jeanne Singletary of Oakdale; one son, Tom Singletary and wife Gayle of West Monroe; one daughter, Jane Singletary Kelley of Boulder, Colorado; two sisters, Wanda Glaze of Norfolk, Nebraska and Rita McCluskey of Cameron; three grandchildren, Todd Singletary, Jan Tooke, and Beth Sample; five great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.

Friends may call today from 8:00 a.m. until time of service in the White Oaks Memorial Chapel.
