Elaine Taylor McGuffee

Funeral services for Elaine Taylor McGuffee, age 64 of Columbia will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday June 26, 2011 from the Columbia Chapel of Riser Funeral Home with Rev. Ed Smith and Rev Eddie Riley officiating. Interment will follow in the Welcome Home Cemetery at Grayson. The McGuffee Family will receive visitors on Saturday evening from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home located at 7131 U S Hwy 165 in Columbia.

Born Elaine Audrey Taylor on December 27, 1946 at Olla, LA she passed from this life on Friday June 24, 2011 at her residence following an extended illness.

She was preceded in death by her parents Walter & Jesse Arnold Taylor, and by her husband Darryl McGuffee, by her grand daughter Tori Thames, by a son: Dean McGuffee, and by a host of brothers and sisters. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. Elaine was always trying to help others, and was loved so much by all her family. She was an active member of Banks Springs Baptist until her illness rendered her unable to be.

Those left to cherish her memory include: Two daughters: Kim Thames and husband Randall of Grayson, and Dawn Lizenby and husband Kimbal of Forney, TX. One son: Dane McGuffee and wife Stacy of Mesquite, TX. Her beloved grandchildren: Taylor Thames of Grayson, Dylan McGuffee and wife Mary of Columbia, Shelby McGuffee, of Columbia, Janie McGuffee of Mesquite, TX, Devin Girod, Destinee Girod, and Angel Girod all of Forney, TX. Two brothers: Jimmy Taylor of Grayson and Alson Taylor of Olla; Two sisters: Katherine Newsom of Olla, and Beatrice Netherland of Crowville.

Serving as pallbearers are Darryl Newsom, Keith Newsom, Shane Lewis, Lance Coleman, Wayne Clark, and Earl Isonhood.
