Floyd Bradley

Floyd Bradley,85, of Delhi went home to be with his Lord and Saviour on Thursday, June 14, 2012 at the Deerfield Nursing & Rehabilitation center after a lengthy illness.

Floyd was born on July 8, 1926 near Crowville, LA to the union of Vivian Condon Bradley and Lula Mae Matthews Bradley.

Floyd was a veteran of the US Army having served three tours of duty in Europe during WWII. He was a receipient of the Order of The Arrow from the Boy Scouts of America and was on the council of the Ouachita Valley Council of BSA. He retired as a rural letter carrier for the USPS after 36 years of service.

Floyd was a member of the Delhi United Methodist Church; a member of the Lee Emmett Thomas Chapter 198 and Guiding Star #66 of Oak Grove in the OES and was a member and Past Master of Delhi Lodge #120 F. & A. M. and a member of the York and Scottish Rites Bodies. He was a Past Grand Patron Order of Eastern Star State of LA, a General Grand Chapter Fraternal Relations Committee member for 3 years and was a "Chief Cook & Bottle Washer" for numerous functions.

Floyd is preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Jack M. "Beau" Bradley; four brothers, Billy Bradley Sr., Clyde and Ralph Bradley and Charles "Simon" Bradley; and four sisters, Bertie Mae Smith, Verbie Cherbini, Etta "Snooks" Hodge and Iris Bradley.

Survivors include his wife of sixty one years, Ruby Walters Bradley of Delhi; a son Jack Bradley Sr. and wife Melodie of Monroe; granddaughters, Amy Malone & husband Chris of Clinton, MS; two grandsons, Jeremy Bradley & wife Tara of Brookhaven, MS and Blakely Bradley and fiance' Taylor Armer of Alexandria, LA; two step-grandsons, Joshua Leporati & wife Miranda and Joseph Leporati; ten great grandchildren, Kaylie Chenevert, Caleb Stroud, Victoria & Olivia Malone, Jaden, Zachary, Bryce, Braxton and Matthew Chase Bradley and Sawyer Houston; one brother, Robert Bradley of Winnsboro, LA; one sister, Mary Shows of Delhi and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Friday, June 15, 2012, at Cox Funeral Home in Delhi.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, June 16, 2012, at the Delhi United Methodist Church with Rev.'s Jack Phelps, Joe Solomon and Clovis Christman officiating with OES funeral rites immediately following. Burial will be in the Faith Memorial Park Cemetery south of Delhi.

Pallbearers will be Blakely Bradley, Jeremy Bradley, Joe Walters Jr., Larry Walters, David Kirtley and Fred Eubanks.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. George D. Edwards and Dr. Samuel P. Scurria.

Any planned memorials may be made to the Delhi United Methodist Church, The or to the charity of donor's choice.
