George W. (Buck) Bell

Mr. George W. (Buck) Bell passed away on Friday, April 4, 2014 in Alexandria, LA, born October 22, 1922 in Haughton, LA. Buck served in the US Navy during WWII. He retired from Louisiana Gas in 1985.

George was preceded in death by his wife, Freda, of 58 years in 2002 and his son, George Melvin Bell. Also preceding him were two sisters, Mary Elsie McGee and Jackie Duffey; brother, Rickard (Dick) Bell.

Buck was an avid sportsman who loved hunting and fishing. He had great pleasure watching all of his grandchildren and great grandchildren playing football, baseball and softball. He was a former Deacon at New Chapel Hill Baptist Church in West Monroe, LA.

Those left to cherish his memory are: Son, Roger Bell (wife Betty) of Alexandria, LA. Grandchildren: Troy Allen Bell, (wife Tracey) of West Monroe, LA, John Bell of Alexandria, LA and Barbara Bell Melton (husband Kevin) of Alexandria, LA and Donnie Wayne Morgan of Atlanta, GA. Great Grandchildren: Katie Elisabeth Bell, Tyler Aulds Bell, J.R. Bell, Austin Bell, Jack Melton and Caroline Melton; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Troy Bell, John Bell, Kevin Melton, J.R. Bell, Austin Bell and Tyler Bell.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, April 7, 2014 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe with Rev. Charles Dupree officiating. Interment will follow Kilpatrick Serenity Gardens in West Monroe.

Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Sunday, April 6, 2014 at Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe.
