James Hinton Watts

Funeral services for James Hinton Watts, 95, of Start, LA will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at Crew Lake United Methodist Church, Start, LA with Pastor Marshall Seiver officiating. Burial will follow in Start Cemetery, Start, LA under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home, Rayville, LA.

James Hinton Watts 3rd son of Sol and Minnie Mae Durant Watts born in Girard, LA November 7, 1917 and passed away Monday, December 10, 2012 at his home after a lengthy illness.

Mr. Hinton was an Air Force veteran serving during World War II. He was a charter member of the Crew Lake United Methodist Church, served as a Police Jury member for Ward 3, board member of the Start Water System, and he coached Dixie Youth Baseball for many years. He was a retired merchant and worked many years at Brown-Holley Funeral Home in Rayville.

Hinton is preceded in death by his parents, Sol and Minnie Durant Watts; son, James Danny "Bubba" Watts; 2-brothers and 1-sister.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Louise Morris Watts of Start, LA; children, Dianne Williams and husband, Robert, Aubrey Watts and wife, Bette, Dennis Watts, Julia Stowe and husband, Kenny, Mary Lynn Davis and husband, David Ray; grandchildren, Paige Danna and husband, David, Sidney Eppinette, Jr. and wife, Denise, Stephanie Guy and husband, Justin, Kevin Eppinette, Danny Williams, Elizabeth Stowe, Jeffrey Davis, Jason Davis, Austin Davis and wife, Melissa; 10-great grandchildren; and step-grandchildren, Clay McLaughlin and wife, Rhonda, Claude McLaughlin and wife, Ann, Joe McLaughlin and wife, Yukki, Sean McLaughlin and wife, Jan and Alicia McLemore; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are his grandsons, Sidney Eppinette, Jr., Kevin Eppinette, Jeffrey Davis, Jason Davis, Austin Davis, and Danny Williams.

Honorary pallbearers are the members of the Crew Lake United Methodist Church.

Visitation is 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM, Wednesday at the church.
