Bonnie Jean Thompson

Funeral services for Bonnie Jean Thompson, 83, of Monroe, will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, February 10, 2014, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Rev. Stan Wyant officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Thompson passed away Friday, February 7, 2014, at St. Francis Medical Center. She was a stenographer for FAA and retired with numerous accommodations and awards. She was a fulltime military wife and mom and lived in Germany and numerous other places around the world. Mrs. Thompson was a longtime member of College Place Baptist Church where she was very active in church. She had a tremendous faith and read her Bible every morning, taught Sunday school, and sang in choir.

Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by granddaughter, Elizabeth Thompson; and brother, James Thomas (JT) Keysacker.

Survivors include husband of 59 years, Charles David Thompson, Jr.; two daughters, Linda Kay Cunningham and Brenda Jean Owens; grandchildren, Bryan Gibbs and wife Laura, Melanie Woodall and husband Cody, Andrew Owens, and Catherine Owens; and great grandchildren, Emilie Gibbs, Elyssa Gibbs, and Khloe Woodall.

Pallbearers will be Cody Woodall, Andrew Owens, Kennith Moorehead, Roy Sivils, James Strickland, and Michael Carr. Honorary pallbearers will be John Hendrix, Ronald Thompson, and Jaimie Autin.

Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to College Place Baptist Church.
