Albert Habeeb Ellis Obituary
Albert Habeeb Ellis

Albert Habeeb Ellis, 79, passed away July 18, 2014 in Pensacola, FL after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Albert was born to Habeeb and Lilly Sherman Ellis on June 14, 1935 in Monroe, LA. He graduated from Neville High School in 1953 and attended Northeast Louisiana State College.

He was married to Kay Donna Pollard in 1957. Together they had four children and later became guardians to his nephew and niece after his sister-in-law Sue passed away.

Albert operated the U-Tote-It convenience stores in Monroe. His store on 4334 DeSiard allowed him the pleasure of being an enthusiastic supporter of NLU students and sports, especially during the early years of the ski team. Later he opened Scrappers Subs and Salads followed by Habeeb's in downtown Monroe. Before retiring he was a professional driver covering much of the South and Southwest.

Albert was preceded in death by his parents Habeeb and Lilly, sister-in-law Sue Timmons, brothers-in-law John Luffey and Earl Williamson, granddaughter Kayla Sue Ostrander and great-grandson Bailey Andrew Timmons. He is survived by his wife Kay; children Bill and his wife Sherri of Baton Rouge, LA, Wendy of Pensacola, FL, Joe and his wife Ronda of Monroe, Sandra and her husband Todd Chisnell of Amarillo, TX, Drew Timmons of Dallas, TX and Suzi Ostrander of Abilene, TX; siblings Rosemary Ellis Luffey of Monroe, LA and Betty Ellis Williamson of Ruston, LA; grandchildren Erin, Lindsey, Kelli, Brandon, Alex, Jason, Kacey Rae, Ryan, Alyssa, Joseph, Nikki, Cole, Steven, Gage and Kellen: great grandchildren Shelbey, Brooklynn, Carly and Rowan and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, July 26th at Mulhearn Memorial Park Chapel Mausoleum. Immediately following will be a Celebration of Life at 3:00pm.

The family would like to thank the Geri Family, Gene, Annie, Kevin and Mark of Lillian, AL. Your help and support has meant so much.
