Junior was born November 8, 1925 in El Dorado, AR and passed away October 17, 2013 peacefully at his home.

Mr. and Mrs. Irwin were both well known for their love of children. Every year for Halloween they blessed every trick-or-treater with their famous popcorn balls. Another yearly tradition was their huge display of Christmas lights during the holiday season that brought joy to all who came to see them.

Junior served in the Navy at the end of World War II. He worked for United Carbon in Swartz until its closure. He then became a Well Operator in the gas field for Ashland Oil, Petro Lewis, and retired from Gas Masters in 2008. Junior was a member of the Haile Baptist Church. He loved tending to his garden and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His wonderful sense of humor continued up to his death and will be missed.

Mr. Irwin was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Katherine; brother, Jackie Wayne Irwin; sisters, Sybil Boykin, Charleen Venable, Gail Irwin, and Shirleen Scott; and daughter-in-law, Pat Irwin.

Survivors include his daughters, Kathy Tanner and husband Richard, and Janice Hayes and husband Ronnie; and son, Gilbert Andrew (Bud) Irwin III. Pallbearers will be Sidney Allen Scott, Byron Boykin, Curtis Boykin, Dennis Scott, Hilton Roberts, and Archie Bradshaw. Honorary pallbearers will be Ray Royal, Dewey Roberson, and Roger Boykin.
