Funeral services for Charles Ray Price, Sr. 89 of Winnsboro will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, November 30, 2013 in the chapel of Gill First National Funeral Home of Winnsboro with Rev. Rayford Higgs and Rev. Johnny Hankins officiating. Interment will follow in Providence Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00-7:00 PM at the funeral home.

He was born to Ashley Broaddus and Ella Mae Wiggers Price on April 15, 1924 in Crowville and passed from this life Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe.

Mr. Price was a member of First United Methodist Church and a United States Navy Veteran who served our country from 1942-1945. He worked as maintenance engineer for Franklin Parish Hospital, having worked there from the day it opened until he retired in 1987. He was a member of V.F.W. and as many people know, he was a man of many talents who could make and fix almost anything.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife LaVeta Higgs Price; sisters Sara Virginia Price, Oneita Tillman, and Pollye Price; and a brother Russell Price.

Mr. Price is survived by his son Charlie Price of Monroe. He was affectionately known as Dan-Dad to his grandchildren: Elizabeth Butler and husband Jeremy of Mandeville, Laura Tugwell and husband Thomas, Paige Price, and Cole Price all of Monroe; a great-granddaughter Caroline Butler; brother Tom Price of Spring, TX; several nieces, nephews and many friends.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy Butler, Trey Price, Marty Steffenson, Veryln Steffenson, Randy Thornhill, Thomas Tugwell
