NEW HAVEN - Louis DeLucia, Jr., 79, of New Haven passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at the St. Raphael's Campus of Yale-New Haven Hospital with his family by his side.

Born in New Haven on June 26, 1934, son of the late Louis DeLucia, Sr., and Philomena Valentino DeLucia. He and his brother, Salvatore, took over as owners and operators of Sunbeam Service Center, for over 40 years, after their father passed away. Louis was an avid sports enthusiast, and had a passion for NASCAR and traveling. He was a very caring and giving person, who enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Louis touched many lives and will be truly missed and never forgotten.
He was the brother of Florence DellaRocco, Carmel Proscino, Lucille Marinuzzi, Salvatore DeLucia, Anna Scali, Susan Elia, Theresa Wiel and the late Mary DeNuzzo, Nicholas and Angelo "Charlie" DeLucia. Also survived by several nieces, nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews.
Family and friends were invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial on Monday, March 31, in St. Barnabas Church and were also invited to attend the committal services immediately following in All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made "In memory of Louis DeLucia, Jr." to YNHH Cardiac ICU Support Fund, YNHH Office of Development, P.O. Box 1849, New Haven, CT 06508-1849.
