Verbeke, Lucille J.
Lucille J. Verbeke passed away on May 31, 2014 at Beaufont Health Care Center in Richmond, VA. Lucille was born on October 9, 1918, the daughter of Jesse and Ruth Johnson, in Lake Forest, IL. She married Henry "Hank" Verbeke in Lake Forest on April 17, 1943.
Lucille attended school in Lake Forest, and was in the first graduating class from Lake Forest High School. Lucille worked as a dental assistant for a dentist in Lake Forest, and then was a bookkeeper at Lake Forest High School until her retirement. After retirement they moved to Berlin, WI in 1977 to live out their years together. Lucille loved crossword puzzles, playing cards, sports, golf and cooking. She was devoted to the friends she made in Wisconsin as well as her large extended family.
Lucille is survived by one son, Thomas (Suzy) Verbeke of Richmond, VA; grandson, Brandon Scott (Natalie) Verbeke, granddaughter Jennifer Kristen (Mike) Socha; great-granddaughter Peyton Whelan and great-grandsons Chase Whelan, and Jacob Verbeke all of Richmond, VA, her daughter-in-law, Debbie Verbeke; granddaughters, Jodie Gimbel, Lyndsay (Jason) Castaneda, and great-grand-daughters Madelyn Castaneda and Kenzi Castaneda, all of Grayslake, IL. Lucille was preceded in death by her husband "Hank", her son Ron, and her brother Jesse Jr. Lucille is further survived by a loving extended Wisconsin family.
A Memorial Service for Lucille will be held on Friday, August 8, 2014 at First Presbyterian Church, 955 N. Webster Ave., Omro, WI at 5 p.m... In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to First Presbyterian Church, Omro. A private family burial service will be conducted on August 9, 2014 in Lake Forest Cemetery.
