Kennedy, Frances Joan

Frances Joan Kennedy, age 79, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2013, at home surrounded by her loving family.

Joan was born June 9, 1934, in Ripon, the youngest of nine children and daughter of William and Frances (Kitowski) Jaworski. She graduated from Ripon High School and on June 26, 1952, Joan married Alan John Kennedy at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Ripon. She loved her job and the people she worked with as a social worker for Ripon Medical Center. Joan worked there for more than 30 years and just really retiring two years ago. She loved sewing, quilting, thrifting, flea markets, reading, watching Westerns, cooking, watching the Packers, especially Brett Favre and playing cards. She enjoyed gardening her flowers and decorating for each and every holiday. Joan was a hard worker, receiving her accounting degree at age 50. Most of all, Joan was a care giver not only to her family but also to the people in her everyday life. She had a strong faith and a strong tie with her family. She was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Green Lake.

Survivors include her five children, Deb (Tom) Van Derslice of Appleton, WI, Sherry (Jim) McCabe of Princeton, WI, Jane (Chris) Shaw of Appleton, WI, John (Kathy) Kennedy of Neenah, WI and Sue (Bob) Kennedy-Kallio of Ripon, WI; eleven grandchildren, Christopher (Rachel), Michelle (Kurt), Ann (Daniel), Aaron (Jenny), Brittany, Meghann (Alex), Josslyn, Alexander, Kelly (Jesse), Thomas and Erika (Rob); fourteen great-grandchildren, Bergin, Ayden, Zachary, Nora, Tula Blu, Vera, Phoebe, Taylor, Logan, Dixee, Bradly, Allyssa, Mason Alan and Dominic John; two sisters, Ann Braun of Ripon, WI and Marge Beuthin of Ripon, WI; her faithful canine companion, Tootsie and numerous relatives and dear friends. Joan was preceded in death by her parents, William and Frances Jaworski; her husband, Alan on October 28, 2013; infant great-granddaughter, Aryanna Schmitt and six sisters, Mary Wand, Elizabeth Duvall, Josephine Lieske, Helen Stratton and Martha Manthey and one brother, Roman Jaworski.

Visitation for Joan will be held on Sunday, November 10, 2013, from 2 - 5:00 pm at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 530 Ruth St., Green Lake, WI 54941.

Mass of Christine Burial for Joan will be held on Sunday, November 10, 2013, at 5:00 pm at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Green Lake. Father Philip Krogman will officiate. Private family inurnment will be held at a later date at Woodlawn Cemetery in Ripon. A memorial is being established in her name.

To all of Joan's family members I send my deepest sympathy. Your support of your Mom has been an inspiration to me, and to so many of my co-workers. You truly are a wonderful family who demonstrated the fine example of your Mom, Joan. I loved working with her and caring for her. You will all be in my thoughts.
