Arlene Joyce Jarvis
Arlene Joyce Jarvis, age 85, of the Town of Mt. Morris, died on Friday, January 17, 2014 at Preston Place, Redgranite. She was born on August 2, 1928 in Waupaca to Lester and Clara (Arveson) Bartleson. Arlene graduated from Waushara County Normal School and then worked as an elementary teacher for 1 year. On June 5, 1948 she married Raymond Jarvis in Saxeville. The couple then farmed and raised their family in rural Wautoma. When Arlen wasn't helping on the farm or raising her children, she also worked at Mt. View Elementary School, Mt. Morris, as a cook. Arlene enjoyed baking, knitting and sewing. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Friendly Neighbors Homemakers Club, a 4-H Leader and a very active member of Mt. Morris Holden Lutheran Church. Arlene especially enjoyed spending time with her family. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Arlene is survived by her husband: Raymond Jarvis; children: Beverly (Daniel) Wilcox,James (Bonita) Jarvis, Richard (Mary) Jarvis, Susan (Marty) Hancock, Joe (Laurie) Jarvis, Cynthia (David) Reilly, John (Cindy) Jarvis; grandchildren: Cameron (Heather Addison) Wilcox, Matthew (Michelle) Wilcox, Adam (Melissa) Wilcox, Douglas Jarvis,Christopher (Bebe) Jarvis, Andrew Jarvis, Katherine (Chad) West, Lucas (April) Hancock, Annie (Josh) Turim, Sarah (Jeremy) Pietkauskis, Paul (JoAnna) Jarvis, Mara Jarvis, Peter (Erica) Jarvis, Rachel Reilly, Caleb (Kristina) Reilly Kelly (Ben) Eppinger, Daniel (fiancé: Anthony Hass) Jarvis; great grandchildren: Elise, Wyeth, Brynn, Bryce, Brayclen, Bennett, Ellie, Ethan, Annalee, Emmersyn, Cadence; two sisters: Jean Jarvis, Joanne (Herb) Maager, two sisters-in-law: Norma Bartleson, Adwina Jarvis, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother: Robert L. Bartleson.
Funeral services will be held at 11AM on Monday, January 20, 2014 at Mt. Morris Holden Lutheran Church. Officiating at the service will be Pastor Barbara Girod with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet relatives and friends on Sunday, January 19, 2014 at Leikness Funeral Home, Wautoma from 2PM until 4PM and again at church on Monday from 10Am until the time of service at 11AM.
