Joyce Jo Anne Schoenberger
Joyce Jo Anne Schoenberger, 77, of Fond du Lac, died Thursday, February 14, 2013, at St. Agnes Hospital.
She was born on May 13, 1935, in Fond du Lac, a daughter of Joseph and Anne Meade Johnson. Joyce graduated from L.P. Goodrich High School, Class of 1953.
On September 14, 1973, she married James J. Schoenberger. Joyce was an executive secretary at Mercury Marine for 38 years.
It was only fitting that Joyce went home to our Heavenly Father on Valentine's Day. She had a loving heart, always wanting to help those less fortunate. Her family and especially her grandkids were her pride and joy. Joyce was always there to give encouragement, lend a listening ear, offer advice, or give a boost if needed; she was her grandkids' biggest cheerleader.
Joyce was often seen shopping around the city in her beloved "Grandma" sweatshirts. No one was a wiser or more frugal shopper than Joyce. She loved the mission of finding an item at the lowest possible price! Joyce really enjoyed her "girlfriend time", especially their get-togethers at Green Lake.
Joyce loved Christmas and was known for her decorating. She loved her Santa collection as well as many other beautiful decorations. When it came to Christmas, Joyce always remembered you with a gift. She was extremely thoughtful and giving or her time, money and talents. She will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her husband, James; two daughters: Kathleen (Wayne) Bargenquast and Kolleen (Andre) Ozols, both of Fond du Lac; five grandchildren: Anthony, Timothy, and Tyler Bargenquast, and Anja and Karlis Ozols. Joyce is further survived by three step-daughters: Kim Goldenfarb, Robin (Dan) Garcia, and Beth (Carlos) Huerta; seven step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren, all of Texas; two brothers and three sisters: Bryan (Ellen) Johnson of Milwaukee, Lynette Krajewski of Hartland, Kent Johnson, Beverly Wendt, and Gerry Lee Moore; four sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law: Ione Johnson of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Annette (Ken) Larie of Oshkosh, Gary (Cheryl) Schoenberger of Pickett, Mary Jane (Glen) Johnson of Arizona, Betty Schoenberger of Oshkosh; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers; and one sister.
Joyce and Jim are blessed with some of the most gracious neighbors anyone could dream for. The family thanks you for your stewardship and friendship. She loved you all. The family would like to thank the staff of Agnesian for the compassionate care given to Joyce in her final days.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 19, 2013, at Ascension Lutheran Church, 901 County Road V, Fond du Lac, with Rev. Jeffrey Blain officiating.
The visitation will be from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Monday, February 18, 2013, at Mach Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 31 E. Division St., Fond du Lac, and on Tuesday at church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.

From the time she was 14 years old, Joyce was my "Kid Sister". Memories are my treasure.
Heartfelt prayers go out to Jim and to others who loved her, from those of us in Michigan and Vermont who loved her, too. And to Kolleen and Kathleen and families - prayers and much love from Aunt Ione

Joyce was a wonderful caring woman. We will always remember her for thoughtfulness. Before she became ill she sent a card with an upbeat message to Karl every other day. She was an inspiration to all of us.
