Kope, Colleen
Kope, Colleen I. Colleen I. Kope, age 72, died unexpectedly Thursday, December 11, 2014, at Mercy Medical Center. She was born on February 17, 1942, in Oshkosh, the daughter of Delbert W. and Dorothy (Jones) Kienast. Colleen married James Michael Kope who preceded her in death. Colleen and Jim loved jumping in their truck and going on adventures, not knowing where they would end up. Colleen and Jim enjoyed going to auctions to see what treasures they could find and would stop at any casino along the way. Family was the most important aspect in her life, and she made it clear in conversations with friends, co-workers, her neighbors, and even strangers. One of Colleen's loving passions was being there for her boys and family; she loved to cook, bring meals over, help with laundry, and lend a helping hand. She took pride in the family business and enjoyed cleaning the limousines. Colleen was always on her feet and on the go running in and out of stores. Anyone who came in contact with her knows she had a gift to gab. She was constantly bragging about co-workers and how she adored going to work every day at Miles Kimball Company in the packaging department. Survivors include her sons, Michael Kope of Redgranite and Gerald (Kristy Bahr) Kope of Oshkosh; grandchildren, Paul, Ayla, Matt, and Bill (Ashley) Kope; great grandchildren, Kjrstin, Alaina, Hunter, Cash, Maverick, Ellie, and Victoria Kope; two brothers, William (Lorie Tod) Kienast and Robert (Jeanne) Kienast, both of Oshkosh; a brother-in-law, Jerry (Judy) Nietzel of Boston, Massachusetts; and two nephews and a niece, Chris, Billie Jo, and Jason. Colleen was preceded in death by her parents, husband, James; son, William James Kope; a sister, Beverly Halsted; a sister-in-law, Judy Zwicky; and a nephew, Kurt. A private family funeral service will be held. Our family will truly miss her unconditional love, strength, and out bursting energy. A memorial has been established.
