Douglas G. Harrington, age 68, of Oshkosh, died Sunday afternoon, January 26, 2014, at his home. Born on December 18, 1945, in Oshkosh, to Louis and Harriett (Weymouth) Harrington, Doug was employed at Godshall Paper & Box Corporation, Oshkosh Sausage Company, and Goodwill.
Attending the YMCA, stock car races, watching wrestling and soap operas on TV, model train sets, riding his bicycle, and walking his dog were favorite activities for Doug. He was known to dress in western attire (hat, shirt, and jeans) on more than one occasion.
Left to mourn his passing is his siblings, Roger (Diane) Harrington, Patricia (Charles) Nitz, John (Diane C.) Harrington, George (Shirley) Harrington, Gary (Arlene) Harrington, Keith Harrington, Danny (Karen) Harrington, Steven Harrington, Bobby Harrington, Debbie (Tim) Liebert, and Gail Lee; and many nieces and nephews. Doug is preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Betty Lou Covie, and a half-brother, Merten Harrington.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 31, 2014, at 4:00 p.m., in Seefeld Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street, with Reverend Carl Knitt officiating. Interment will take place at Lake View Memorial Park. A time of visiting and sharing of memories will be held from 2:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral chapel.
