Riebe, Harold B.
The Rev. Harold B. Riebe passed away on October 6, 2013 in Tempe, Arizona. He was born on February 6, 1915 in Vlva, ND. Rev. Riebe served 28 years as a United Methodist minister in the Wisconsin Conference, serving the Oconto and Abrams United Methodist churches from 1952 to 1959, the Sun Prairie United Methodist Church from 1959 to 1968, and the Algoma Boulevard United Methodist Church in Oshkosh from 1968 until his retirement from the full-time active ministry in 1980. Following his retirement, Rev. Riebe served as the calling pastor at the First United Methodist Church in Neenah from 1980 to 1990. During his ministry, Rev. Riebe was active in the Wisconsin Conference and at the national level of the United Methodist Church, serving on the Board of Evangelism, and in many other capacities.
Rev. Riebe was married to the former Eloise (Sally) Curtis from 1939 until her death in 1994. He married the former Rosemary Sharpee in 1995 and was married until her death in 2007. He lived in Oshkosh, WI from 1968 until 1998 when Rev. and Mrs. Riebe relocated to the Tempe, AZ area full-time.
Rev. Riebe is survived by two daughters, Rachel (Charles) Turner, Tahuya WA, and Priscilla (John) Westra, Madison WI, and three stepsons, James (Patricia) Sharpee, Jack (Lynn) Sharpee and Jeff (Judy) Sharpee. He is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Sat., Oct. 19 at 11:00 AM at the Lake View Memorial Park in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. A memorial service will be held on Nov. 9 at 1:00 PM at the Friendship Village Health Care Center of Tempe, Arizona, where he resided at the time of his death.
In lieu of flowers, a Memorial Fund is being established for the Gardens of the Friendship Village Health Care Center in Tempe, Arizona.
