Otto, Jean Cecil
Jean Cecil (Frank) Otto, age 88, of Oshkosh, passed away at Aurora Medical Center on Thursday, March 20, 2014 after a brief illness. Jean was born in Oshkosh on February 20, 1926 the daughter of Ferdinand and Theresa (Esslinger) Frank, and was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She married John Otto on May 8, 1954 and the couple resided at the Frank homestead at 1019 Witzel Ave. in Oshkosh for over 50 years.
In her younger years Jean was employed by the Wisconsin Telephone Company as a Service Assistant and later in life worked part time for the Miles Kimball Company. Jean enjoyed cooking and baking and made the best rye bread ever. She also liked watching the Brewers and going to rummage sales with her sisters and nieces. Most of all Jean enjoyed being a Mom to her children and treasured the time spent with her family including her eight grandchildren.
Jean is survived by her children; Jan Luker of Eden Prairie, MN, Jeffrey (Jill) Otto of Oshkosh, and Jill (Tim) Kampmann of Oshkosh, grandchildren; Mallery (Nate) Hammond, Mesa, Merrill, and Mark Luker, Madelynn and Ava Otto, Emily and Brayden Kampmann, and many nieces and nephews. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brothers Carl, Leonard, and Clarence Frank, and sisters Leona Lippold, Lillian Penzenstadler, Rose Haidlinger, Lorraine Soapmann, Margaret Fritz, and Florence Christensen.
The Otto family wishes to extend thanks to the staff at Aurora Medical Center as well as the employees of Webster Manor in Omro for the care and support they provided Jean over the past four years. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established for the
Funeral services for Jean will be Wednesday, March 26, 2013 at 11:00 am in the Fiss and Bills Poklasny Funeral Home, the Rev. Matt Simonar officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the Funeral Home Wednesday from 9am until the time of services.
