Young, Larry W.
With family members at his side, Larry Young, 64, of Everton, MO passed away peacefully on February 3, 2013.
Born in New London, Wisconsin, Larry went to school in Las Vegas, Nevada and Neenah, WI.
Larry served in the U.S. Army
which included a tour of Vietnam.
He married Jeanie Slomski of Menasha, WI. They had two sons, Troy and Chad.
After military service, Larry returned to Wisconsin, where he was employed by his father's company, Prestige Builders, Inc. and then Russ Young, Inc.
He then started his own construction company which he ran for a number of years before moving to Pahrump, Nevada, where he established a steel building company that he owned and operated until his health forced him to retire in 2008.
He is survived by his son, Troy (Joneal), grandchild, Dillon of Tampa, Florida, grandchild, Brittany Young and great-grandson, Cain of Oshkosh, WI.
Other survivors include his father, Russell (Barbara) of Winneconne, WI.; a brother, Gene (Roberta) of Winneconne, WI.; sister, Suzanne (friend, Steve) of Las Vegas, Nevada; stepfather, Gerry Ford; special friend Lin of Springfield, MO.; aunts, uncles, nephews and nieces.
Larry was a member of the Missouri Chapter of Vietnam Vets M/C.
He cherished his Vietnam brothers and considered them family.
He served as Road Captain of the club when they traveled.
Our family is deeply grateful to the Missouri Chapter of Vietnam Vets M/C for honoring Larry with a beautiful and touching ceremony. Larry was laid to rest in the Veterans cemetery in Springfield, MO.
Larry was preceded in death by his youngest son, Chad and his mother, Ruth Elaine.
As you ride the Harley to your final home, remember us. We love you, Lar.
