Michelle Lyn Bathke (nee Seraphine), age 37, of Oshkosh, passed away on Friday, March 29, 2013 at Mercy Medical Center after a three year struggle with a brain tumor. She was born in Oshkosh on May 20, 1975, the daughter of Timothy and Jean (Feustel) Seraphine. On June 24, 2000 she married Scott Bathke at Zion Lutheran Church in Oshkosh. She graduated from Oshkosh West High School in 1993. Michelle loved children and had been a pre-school teacher
at Davis Child Care for many years. She was especially proud of her children, Ethan and Ella, with whom she spent much time. Michelle will be remembered for her loving nature, being a friend to everyone, and always placing everyone before herself.
Michelle will be dearly missed by her husband, Scott, and their children: Ethan and Ella; mother, Jean Seraphine of Oshkosh; brothers, Kris (Susie) Seraphine of Cottage Grove and Anthony Seraphine of Oshkosh; aunt, Lyn Seraphine; uncle, Alan (Judy) Seraphine; father and mother-in-law, Steven and Marsha Bathke; brother-in-law, Marc Bathke; godson, Quenten Prickett; and her many cherished friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Tim; and grandparents, Geraldine and Chet Seraphine.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at ZION LUTHERAN CHURCH, 400 N. Sawyer St., Oshkosh, with Rev. Jeffrey Knoll officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
The family extends a special thank you to: Dr. Thomas Wascher and David Bond, N.P. of the Neuro Spine Center in Appleton; Dr. Thomas Klinkhammer and the staff at Fox Valley Hematology and Oncology; Dr. Editha Krueger and the staff at Radiation Oncology at Appleton Medical Center, the staff at Mercy Medical Center, and the staff at Aurora Medical Center, for the wonderful and compassionate care Michelle received.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund in Michelle's name is being established for Fox Valley Brain Tumor Coalition.
