Tagatz, Rose Marie

Rose Marie Tagatz, age 90 of Markesan, formerly of Princeton, passed away on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at the Markesan Resident Home. She was born on July 29, 1922 in Milwaukee, a daughter of Jacob Edward and Katherine Margaret (Strack) Metz. On December 6, 1941 she married Harvey August Tagatz at St. John's Lutheran Church in Montello. During her working career, Rose worked for Handcraft in Princeton, Ripon Knitters and Sand Knit. She enjoyed rock collecting, bird watching, crocheting, writing poems and flowers.

Rose is survived by her 3 daughters, Donna (Chuck) Scheuers of Princeton, Judy (Keith) Atkinson of Malone, WI, Jeanette (Gary) Greget of Princeton; 7 grandchildren, Jeff (Gail) Scheuers of Neenah, Linda (Dan) Schilling of Princeton, Lori (John) Kies of Ripon, Bill (Brenda) Atkinson of New Holstein, Tracy (Dan) Fink of Spring, TX, Marie (Paul) Oosterhouse of Malone, Christine (Adam) Roehl of Princeton, 12 great grandchildren, Nicole and Beth Scheuers, Brandon Schilling and Alex Scheuers, Emily Scheuers and Aiden Kies, Ashley Atkinson, Megan (Christopher) Shea, Paul Anthony and Alexis Oosterhouse, Hannah and Jacob Roehl; sister, Marjorie A. Gruber of Pekin, IL.; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Harvey in 1969; mother and father-in-law, Albert and Ida (Gatz) Tagatz; brother-in-law, Alvin Tagatz; infant brother; sister, Delores Draeger; great grandson, Samuel Roehl.

A visitation for Rose Marie Tagatz will take place on Wednesday, November 14, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., at St. John's Lutheran Church, 226 South Clinton St., in Princeton. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the church with Rev. Daniel Heiderich officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Memory Hill Cemetery in Princeton.
