Aves Laura Chier, age 88, of Borth, WI went to her eternal rest on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at Berlin Memorial Hospital in Berlin, WI. She was born December 17, 1923 in Borth, Waushara Co., WI; daughter of Herman and Augusta (Bowe) Nitzke. Aves married Edward A. Chier in Berlin, WI on June 4, 1943 at the Berlin Evangelical Church. He preceded her in death on July 29, 1993. Aves and Edward owned an antique shop, west of Borth, where they established their home in 1956. They had been in the antique business for 60 years. Aves also worked as a factory worker, a rug weaver, and a sales representative for Stanley Home Products, Dutchmaid Clothing, and Volrath Stainless Steel Co. - cookware and Bavarian china. Aves and Edward wintered in Ruskin, Florida for 33 years where they owned a small orange grove. They enjoyed tending to their orange grove and welcomed many friends and family to visit them thru the winter. Aves also enjoyed making assorted crafts and going to flea markets. She was an active member of the Poy Sippi United Methodist Church. Aves will be deeply missed by all of her loving family and friends. Aves is survived by a son: Daniel (Myrna) Chier of Poy Sippi, WI; four grandsons: Tim (Ann Michels) Chier, Todd (Laura) Chier, Terry (Dawn) Chier, and Tom Chier; one granddaughter: Missy (Jay) Jones; ten great-grandchildren: Mack and Abigail Chier, Elliot and Nicholas Chier, Gale Chier, Gage and Mya Chier, and Emily, Ethan, and Erica Jones; and two sisters: Evelyn Heise and Jeannette Gebauer. Aves is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Augusta Nitzke; her husband, Edward Chier; two brothers, Wallace and Ebert Nitzke; and other loved ones. A Funeral Service will be on Thursday, December 13, 2012 at 1:00 PM at the Poy Sippi United Methodist Church in Poy Sippi, WI. Reverend George Groves will officiate. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM at the church. Burial will be at Poy Sippi Cemetery in the Town of Poy Sippi following the service on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in the name of Aves L. Chier. The Holly Funeral Home of Poy Sippi is assisting the family with arrangements.
