Brewer, Bernard E.

Bernard E. Brewer, 91, of Oshkosh passed away, with family by his side, Sunday, December 29, 2013, at Park View Health Center. He was born July 20, 1922 in Oshkosh a son of the late Ervin and Ida (Priebe) Brewer. He married Mary Ann Batterman on April 3, 1948, and she preceded him in death on Nov. 9, 1997.

Bernard worked for the Radford Company before becoming an owner/operator of a few bars in Oshkosh after which he worked for H. Derksen & Son's and then Westside Garage. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles for over 35 years along with being a member of the Pirates in the Harbour Door County chapter of the Jimmy Buffet Parrot Head Club, Bernard enjoyed participating in activities in both organizations.

Bernard is survived by two daughters, Diane (Edward) Measer of Saxeville/Florida and Debra (Dan) Huettner of Neenah; two sons, Dennis (Judy) Brewer and Danny (Dawn) Brewer both of Oshkosh; a sister-in-law, Jean Batterman of Neenah; 13 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren & 1 great-great grandchild along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, all his siblings, 2 grand children, 1 great grandchild, and special friend Loretta Eilert.

Eagle services along with funeral services for Bernard will be held Thursday at 6:00 p.m. at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Eastside. Visitation will be on Thursday at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers a Memorial has been set up for Park View Health Center.
