Wendler, Cathy Rose (Warner)

Cathy Rose (Warner) Wendler, 53, of Oshkosh passed away on Wednesday afternoon July 11, 2012, at her home. She was born in Oshkosh on April 26, 1959, the daughter of Jerome J. and Geraldine "Gerry" (Kallin) Warner, Jr. She married Ken Wendler on May 23, 1987, at St. John's Catholic Church in Oshkosh. Cathy is survived by her husband, Ken Wendler and one son, Jerome Wendler both of Oshkosh; one stepson, Joey (Brittany) Forbes of Oshkosh; one brother, James (Donna) Warner of Wild Rose; two sisters, Vicky (John) Staehler and Sheri (Dale) Applebee, both of Oshkosh; three granddaughters, Holly and Melody Forbes and Kadance Vande Voort; special aunt, Sandy Ebel; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.

She was employed at Buckstaff, Morgan Door and then at J.J. Keller. She was a former member of St. John's Catholic Church in Oshkosh. Cathy enjoyed playing softball, fishing, hunting, darts and gardening. She loved spending time with family and friends and had the need to take care of people. She was a loving wife, mother and sister. Cathy loved playing tennis with her son, Jerome. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. Cathy's smile, bright eyes and contagious laughter will be missed by all who knew her. She had a kind heart for the people she knew. She tried her best to succeed in life and will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 16, 2012, at 7 p.m. at the Fiss & Bills Funeral Home @ 865 S. Westhaven Drive. Oshkosh, WI 54904. Father William Van De Kreeke will officiate. Visitation will be held on Monday at the funeral home from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. Private committal services will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established in Cathy's name.
