Paulson, Clifford Gunder
Clifford 'Cliff" Paulson, 81 of Oshkosh, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at Bethel Home. He was born on August 28, 1931, in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, the son of Clifford H. and Dorothy (Weed) Paulson. Clifford is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Shirley (Paulson) Plummer.
Clifford was a Korean War veteran, and proudly served his country from 1950-1953 as a member of the United States Marine Corps. Upon completion of his Korean War service, Clifford returned to Oshkosh and was employed as a draftsmen and purchasing agent at U S. Motors,
On October 23, 1954, Clifford married his best friend, Carol Mae (Graska) Paulson, at Sacred Heart Church in Oshkosh. Together they enjoyed 58 years of marriage before Carol preceded him in death on January 10, 2013. Immensely devoted to his family, Clifford was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He took great pride in watching his two daughters grow and have families of their own. One of Clifford's favorite pastimes was attending Sunday night dinner with his family. He especially loved to use this time to reminisce and tell jokes. Clifford will be forever remembered for his priceless comments and contagious laughter. No one could resist joining in when Clifford laughed so hard tears were brought to his eyes.
Clifford was a deeply curious man who enjoyed using his free time to explore new hobbies. Some of his favorite activities over the years included riding his bike, reading, learning to play a variety of musical instruments, researching and shopping for electrical gadgets, developing his own exercise equipment and finding inventive ways to use extension cords. Many believe Clifford could have wired the entire City of Oshkosh with one cord if given the chance. Beyond his electrical ingenuity, Clifford was a kind and gentle man who had a deep love for animals, especially the many dogs he owned throughout his life.
Clifford's laughter and love will live on in those who survive him including his two daughters, Le Anne (Karl) Newell and Rox Anne (Todd) Schultz, and nine precious grandchildren and step-grandchildren, Sean, Meghan, Erin, and Caitlin Lennon, Amanda, Shane, and Montana Schultz, and Alex and Claire Newell.
As per Clifford's wishes a private family service was held in his honor.
Clifford's family would like to thank the staff of Bethel Home for their constant diligence, love and care. Clifford greatly appreciated the kindness shown by each and every one of you.
