Dobberstein, Dennis L.

Dennis L. Dobberstein, age 64, of Larsen, peacefully entered his heavenly home on Tuesday, December 10, 2013, at Cherry Meadows. He was born on July 12, 1949, in New London, the son of the late Gerhardt and Velma(Meyer)Dobberstein. On December 30, 1972, Dennis married Joan Larsen in Milwaukee. Dennis was a member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Greenville. He was a former member of Zion Lutheran Church in Caledonia, where he served as former Church president, secretary, trustee and financial secretary. He also served as their church organist for 45 years. Dennis was a former bus driver for the New London School District, and was also a former guidance counselor in Elkhart Lake. Working on the family farm gave him fulfillment and satisfaction his entire life. Dennis is survived by his wife of 41 years, Joan; a sister, Doreen(Tom)Hickey, Milwaukee; a brother, Daniel(Joyce), Florida; his mother and father-in-law, Orville and Helen Larsen, West Bend; a brother-in-law, Paul(Maureen)Larsen, Menomonee Falls; nieces, and nephew, Renee Larsen, Naomi(Lucas)Smith, Sara Larsen, Brian Larsen, and Isis(Colin)Pollard; aunts, uncles, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, N1615 Meadowview Dr., Greenville. Rev. John Schmidt and Rev. Nate Reichle will officiate. Inurnment will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, at the Lewin Funeral Home, Fremont from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, at the church, from 10:00 AM until the time of service.

Dennis' family would like to extend a very special Thank You to the staff at Cherry Meadows. You compassionate care was very greatly appreciated.
