Raddatz Sr., Donald T.

Donald T. "Sam" Raddatz Sr. age 86, of Oshkosh, passed away on Friday, October 18, 2013. He was born on December 24, 1926 in Oshkosh, a son of the late Charles and Anna (Zarter) Raddatz. He served his country in the US Army from June of 1945 til November of 1946. Don married the former Patricia Wiliquette on September 11, 1948 in St. Vincent Catholic Church. Pat preceded Don in death on July 31, 2008. Don was a longtime member of St. Jude/St. Vincent and had worked for and retired from Rockwell International retiring in 1987 after 41 years of service. He greatly enjoyed all sports especially golf, tennis, the Green Bay Packers and St. Louis Cardinals. He and Pat enjoyed traveling over the years and Don also loved playing piano and time spent with his many friends for breakfast at the Hardee's south restaurant.

He is survived by two sisters, Marie Phillips of Oshkosh and Delores Akin of California; a grandson, Jesse Raddatz of Neenah; and is further survived by special friends, Kirk (Kim )Hartman; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death also by his son, Donald T. "Donnie" Raddatz Jr.; sisters, Rosalia, Cecelia, Olivia, Lydia and Emma; brothers, Norman, Carl, Edwin, Leo, Robert and Richard.

A memorial service celebrating his life will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Poklasny Funeral Home, 870 W. South Park Ave. in Oshkosh. The Rev. Fr. William Van De Kreeke will officiate. Inurnment will be in Lake View Memorial Park Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. A memorial fund will be established.
