Wiles, Elbert W.

Elbert W. Wiles, 85, Oshkosh, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 6, 2012, at Northpoint Medical and Rehabilitation. He was born on Sept. 22, 1926, a son of the late Claude and Myrtle (Brabizon) Wiles. Elbert served his country in the U.S. Navy on the USS Herschel from 1944 to 1946. He greatly enjoyed aviation, the love of his family, movies, karaoke and collecting cookbooks. Elbert will also be remembered for his quick wit and sense of humor. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

His memory will be cherished by his wife, Dianne, Oshkosh; a son, Rick (Pam Shaver) Wiles, Oshkosh; daughters, Linda Schabloski, Oshkosh; Jacqueline Harrington, Florida; and Deborah (Jerry) Neustifter, Oshkosh; five stepsons, Gilbert Bawker, Edgerton; Gerald Bawker, Texas; Randy Davis, Texas; Robert Davis, Edgerton; Brian (Kathy) Davis, Janesville; a stepdaughter, Nancy Larson, Oshkosh; two brothers, Jim Wiles and Bob (Joyce) Wiles, both of Oshkosh; sisters, Doris Chartrand and Margaret Wilson, both of Oshkosh; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, other relatives and many very dear friends. He was preceded in death by first wife, Joan; second wife, Jane; third wife, Mary; sisters, Gloria Wiles and Betty Wiles; a granddaughter, Andrea Schabloski.

A memorial service celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2012 at 4 p.m. in the Fiss & Bills-Poklasny Funeral Home, 865 S. Westhaven Dr. in Oshkosh. A time of visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 2 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established.
