Evelyn Alice Chase, age 97, of Neshkoro, formerly of Berlin, passed away peacefully with her family beside her on Monday afternoon April 1, 2013 at the Preston Place of Redgranite.

She was born on August 27, 1915 in Berlin the daughter of Paul and Emma (Albright) Sieg.

Evelyn was baptized and confirmed at the Grace Lutheran Church of Berlin and she attended Woodlawn School in Green Lake County for eight years where she excelled in all classes especially spelling and singing.

She married Earl Chase on May 12, 1935 in Fond du Lac and he preceded her in death on December 21, 1997.

After her marriage to Earl they moved to the family farm in Spring Lake in 1943.

Evelyn not only worked the farm with her husband but was also the bookkeeper and a great wife, Mother and caregiver. She also worked at the pickle station in Redgranite, the Lambskin Slipper Co. of Berlin as a Stitcher for many years and the Miles Kimball Co. of Oshkosh.

She was also an excellent cook, picked cucumbers, raised chickens and sold eggs. Her enjoyments in life were first of all being a good wife and mother and grandmother but also cooking and her cats and kittens.

In many of her later years she suffered from macular degeneration which made life difficult for her.

Survivors include her children, Ron Chase (Virginia Andersen), Gordon (Sharon) Chase and Carol Standke (Dan Widder), grandchildren, Krista Juday, Tammy (Bill) Lehr, Susan (David) Eagan, David (Jennifer) Chase, Kimm (Jim) Hackney and Todd Standke, great grandchildren, Cole Juday, Kahler Juday, Amber (Josh) Gabrilska, Arron Lehr (Jenni), Avery Lehr, Chase Eagan, Clark Eagan, Rachel Weeks (Josh), Stephanie Weeks, Emma Chase, Dayton Chase, Kailee (Caleb) Bandt and Carly Standke, great-great grandchild, Ryder Bandt.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers and sisters -in -law, Harvey and Dora Sieg and Clarence and Loretta Sieg, daughters-in- law, Shirley Chase and Karen Chase and son in law, Dennis Standke.

Private family services were held on Thursday April 4, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the Wiecki-Skipchak Funeral Home of downtown Berlin with the Pastor George Kafer officiating and burial followed in the Oakwood Cemetery of Berlin.

"Mom finally found the road that Dad was traveling and joined him in yet another journey. We will miss her dearly. Don't say (good bye) say (so Long). So long Mom, Love the kids."
