Goldie Irene Sohm, nee Sutton, age 92, passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2014. She was born near Waupaca on March 27, 1922, the daughter of the late Glenn and Veda (Tarr) Sutton. On May 31, 1941, she married Hubert "Blackie" Sohm in Oshkosh who preceded Goldie in death on June 12, 2007. They lived most of their married life in their home on Merrill St. in Oshkosh. A house they built by hand, in which they raised their beautiful daughter, Karen. Goldie enjoyed working as a cost analyst for S.N.C. in her early adult life. She loved to travel with Blackie: wintering in Florida and visiting areas in Wisconsin and Colorado. Goldie will be fondly remembered for the love she had for her family. Her grandsons especially enjoyed their annual summer visits to Grandma and Grandpa's house.
Goldie is survived by her grandchildren: Robert (Lori) Reischl of West Salem and Timothy Reischl of Manawa; great-grandchildren: Sarah, Christina, Katie, Andrew, Stephen and Hannah; nieces and nephews: Mike (Sarah) Dennin and Dan Dennin, Kathy (Dave) Thill, and Marcy (Dave) Conklin. She was preceded in death by her husband, daughter; Karen Wynveen; two infant children; her parents; sisters: Clarice (John) Ahrens and Belva (Ambrose) Dennin; and brother, DuWayne Sutton.
The funeral service will be at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, April 11, 2014 at the Seefeld Funeral Home. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Lakeview Memorial Park.
