The Guest Book is expired.
John W. Arnold, 100, of Berlin, passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, February 9, 2013, at the Juliette Manor Nursing Home of Berlin.
He was born on October 10, 1912, in Allenville, Wis., the son of Gustav and Pauline (Lemke) Arnold.
John married the love of his life Henrietta (Bozych) on February 8, 1964, at Saint Stanislaus Catholic Church of Berlin. They did not have any children.
John had worked for the Kramp Construction Company of Berlin when they built the freeway system in Milwaukee and also U.S. Highway 41. After his retirement he enjoyed spending his time at the Eagen farm west of Berlin, cutting hay and driving truck. He also liked helping Ray Kasuboski care for the Saint Stanislaus Cemetery of Berlin where he helped with mowing and various other duties at the cemetery and as Ray had always said "John is the most faithful helper and friend you could ever find".
If anyone ever needed any help, John would always be there to volunteer to help. He stayed very active, even up to a couple of years ago. He could always be found either drinking a cup of coffee at the local restaurant, or tending to the strawberries or flowers he had planted at home.
John is survived by his beloved wife, Henrietta at the American House of Berlin and also several nieces and nephews and many other friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Louis; and his four sisters, Martha, Hattie, Elsie and Elida.
A Funeral Service with the Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 15, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the All Saints Catholic Church of Berlin, with the Rev. Jerome Maksvytis officiating and burial will follow in the Saint Stanislaus Catholic cemetery of Berlin. Immediately following the services at the cemetery all are invited to the Berlin V.F.W. hall for fellowship and a luncheon with the family.
Relatives and friends may visit and pay their respects to John and his family on Friday (only) February 15, 2013 from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Wiecki-Skipchak Funeral Home of downtown Berlin.
